The Challenge

What This Project Explores.

Independent boutiques compete with fast-fashion giants on presentation but can't match them on price or logistics. The concept explores how a small brand's storefront can feel as considered as its garments — and how email and automation can turn first-time buyers into returning customers without a marketing team.

Objectives

  • Present products with editorial quality that justifies boutique pricing
  • Make browsing and checkout feel effortless on a phone
  • Answer sizing and returns questions at the point of decision, not in a buried FAQ
  • Build retention infrastructure — email capture and post-purchase flows — into the store's foundations

Strategy

The Thinking Behind the Build.

  1. 1

Treat the homepage as a lookbook: large imagery, seasonal storytelling, minimal chrome

  2. 2

Design product pages around the decision moment — fabric, fit, sizing, and returns within one scroll

  3. 3

Keep the path from product to paid under a minute on mobile

  4. 4

Plan email capture and lifecycle flows alongside the store design rather than bolting them on later

From Plan to Delivery

Process, Technology, and Deliverables.

Process notes

  • Began with a positioning exercise: what should this store feel like next to fast-fashion sites?
  • Prototyped the mobile product page before any desktop layout
  • Mapped the post-purchase journey — confirmation, dispatch, review request, next-season re-engagement
  • Checked every template against page-speed budgets before visual polish

Technology

  • Shopify storefront architecture
  • Mobile-first responsive templates
  • Email marketing platform integration
  • Automated lifecycle email flows

Deliverables

  • Storefront and collection page designs
  • Conversion-focused product page template
  • Streamlined mobile checkout experience
  • Post-purchase and abandoned-cart email flow designs

The Result

Final Experience and Outcome.

What the final experience delivers

Shoppers browse a store that feels like a well-art-directed magazine, find sizing and returns answers exactly where doubt creeps in, and check out in moments. After purchase, considered follow-up emails keep the brand present without becoming noise.

Outcome

The concept shows how presentation and retention systems reinforce each other in boutique e-commerce. It anchors our approach for fashion clients: build the relationship machinery with the storefront, not after it.
